Those honored were as follows:
- Kristy Swafford – Overall State Supportive Care Winner
- Cynthia Hamilton – Kentucky Health Care Foundation Presidential Scholarship
“It is a privilege to honor caregivers for the outstanding care and devotion they show every day to their residents. These honorees are an example of the many Kentucky providers and caregivers delivering quality care,” said KAHCF Board Chair Terry Skaggs. “This recognition is a testament to their dedication to their residents.”
“It is wonderful to see Kristy and Cynthia recognized for their dedication and commitment to
quality care to their residents,” said Barbourville administrator Janna Shelley.
More than 700 long-term care providers met during the meeting, energized by general sessions challenging them with strategies to cope with stress on the job, hiring and retaining quality staff, and breakout sessions on a variety of issues facing long-term care providers.
The week was capped off with the Quality Awards Banquet on November 15. The Association honored 33 facilities with the Best of Kentucky – Nursing and Rehabilitation Award.
The residents and staff of Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center are proud of Kristy for her accomplishment state-wide. Also of Cynthia for her scholarship.
